7th Lindau Meeting of Nobel Laureates on Economic Sciences kicks off in Germany

Lindau [Germany], August 24: The 7th Lindau Meeting on Economic Sciences kicked off on Tuesday in the southern German city of Lindau, both in person and online. The meeting was postponed for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year's meeting, which will run until Saturday, brings together 19 laureates of the Nobel Prize for Economic Sciences.
In addition, more than 300 young economic scientists from around 60 countries are attending the meeting, which is focused on topics including crises of the past, present and future, digitalization and society, microeconomics, and economic policies.
"We are glad to finally be able to continue the tradition of our economics meetings, which were established in 2004 and could not be held on site in 2020 and 2021 due to coronavirus. The participation of several laureates from recent years shows Lindau's high standing among economists," said Bettina Bernadotte afWisborg, president of the organizing council for the meeting.
Participating Nobel laureates and young economists will have plenty of opportunities for intensive exchanges of ideas, with many lectures, panel discussions and Next Generation Economics sessions on the agenda between now and Saturday.
