Nov 08, 2022

Jerusalem [Israel], November 8: Israel will establish the first research and development infrastructure center for small satellites, the country's Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology said on Monday.
The center will put the infrastructure for the development of small satellites and their components available for space companies, entrepreneurs, research organizations, and educational institutions, and will encourage cooperation between them.
The center was initiated in the background of the accelerated growth in the global small satellites market and the inherent potential in the field for Israeli industry, the ministry explained.
The center will offer acceleration programs, knowledge and physical infrastructure for research, ground station services, assistance with regulatory issues, and more.
Initiated by the Israel Space Agency at the ministry, the center will be built at a cost of 100 million shekels (28 million U.S. dollars), of which 80 percent will be financed by the government.
