Myanmar exports over 59,000 tons of rice, broken rice in August

Yangon [Myanmar], September 2: Myanmar exported 59,971 tons of rice and broken rice in August, according to data released by the Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) on Friday.
The figure decreased from over 156,893 tons of rice and broken rice exported in August last year, the MRF's data showed.
The exports of rice and broken rice last month included 33,755 tons of rice and 26,216 tons of broken rice.
The federation said Myanmar has shipped 55,970 tons of the exported rice and broken rice via sea routes, and the rest via land border gates.
The Southeast Asian country exported rice and broken rice to more than 20 countries including the Philippines, Spain, China, Poland, Vietnam, Belgium and the Netherlands last month.
Myanmar earned 853.472 million U.S. dollars from the export of more than 2.2 million tons of rice and broken rice in the 2022-23 fiscal year (April 2022-March 2023), showed the MRF data.
