Storm kills 10 in southern Ukraine, causes widespread power cuts

Kyiv [Ukraine], November 29: At least 10 people died and 23 were injured as a result of a severe storm in Ukraine, Interior Minister IhorKlymenko wrote on his Telegram channel on Tuesday.
The worst situation was around Odessa, where hundreds of stuck vehicles were towed away by Tuesday morning, including 24 buses and 17 ambulances, Klymenko wrote.
In the Odessa region alone, there were five deaths and 15 injuries. Hundreds of communities have been cut off from the power grid of the war-torn country, he said.
There were also victims of the snowstorm in the neighbouring region of Mykolaiv and in the north-eastern Ukrainian region of Kharkiv.
Fighting in eastern Ukraine between the Ukrainian defenders and the Russian occupying forces continues despite the onset of winter, according to media reports. (DPA)
