Uzbekistan's economy grows 5.4 pct in first half 2022

Tashkent [Uzbekistan], July 30: Uzbekistan's gross domestic product (GDP) increased 5.4 percent in the first six months of 2022 than the same period of 2021, according to the latest data released by the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
According to the committee, Uzbekistan's GDP amounted to 389.63 trillion soums (35.27 billion U.S. dollars).
For the same period, per capita GDP in real terms amounted to 10.9 million soums (995 U.S. dollars), an increase of 3.3 percent.
Earlier this month the Uzbek Central Bank said that it revised macroeconomic forecasts for 2022 and the country's GDP growth is expected at the level of 5 percent to 5.5 percent annually.
