Albanian opposition slams PM's choice of AI server as 'minister'

Budapest [Hungary], September 14: Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama has caused outrage among the opposition with his proposal to appoint an AI server as a government "minister." When presenting his cabinet on Thursday, Rama announced that the server Diella, meaning "sun" in Albanian, would ensure that corruption in the awarding of public contracts is abolished.
The leader of the conservative opposition Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, wrote on Facebook: "The prime minister's pranks cannot be turned into legal acts of the Albanian state." Rama's decision is unconstitutional, Bardhi said, noting that the Balkan country's constitution stipulates that ministers must be Albanian citizens, of legal age and mentally fit. Diella has previously been used as a virtual assistant on government websites. The cabinet still has to be approved by parliament. (DPA)
