Jan 20, 2026

Jakarta [Indonesia], January 20: Indonesian search and rescue teams on Monday found a second body from the site of a turboprop plane crash in mountainous terrain on Sulawesi island, officials said. However, bad weather and sheer cliffs continued to hamper efforts to reach the victims from the aircraft carrying 10 people.
The body of a woman was found on a steep cliff face on Mount Bulusaraung in South Sulawesi, said Mohammad Syafii, head of Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency. The victim was located around 500 metres below the mountain's summit. The discovery followed the recovery on Sunday of a man whose body was found in a ravine about 200 metres deep.(DPA)
