Belarus president approves resolution on border protection

Jan 31, 2025

Minsk [Belarus], January 31: Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on Thursday approved a resolution on state border protection in 2025.
The resolution to protect the state border is a very serious decision to protect the sovereignty and defense of Belarus, Lukashenko said while approving the document.
The situation on the border is tense, and there is a lot of work for everyone, the Belarusian leader said. All security agencies are involved in protecting the state border, because border guards alone will not be able to ensure the protection of 3,600 kilometers of the state border, he added.
Chairman of Belarus' State Border Committee Konstantin Molostov said that among the priority tasks of the border service bodies in 2025 is the continuation of building up the system of forces and means of the border service bodies, equipping them with modern weapons and machinery.
The priority is to improve the combat training of military personnel, field training of manoeuvre groups, and ensuring the readiness of Belarusian border guards to stop armed and other provocations on the state border, he added.
