China, Hong Kong, Taiwan prepare for effects of typhoon

Sep 22, 2025

Beijing [China], September 22: China, Hong Kong and Taiwan were bracing for the effects of the approaching Typhoon Ragasa on Sunday.
Taiwan's weather service issued a warning for the south-eastern coastal area, including the smaller islands. The island republic is expecting heavy rain, storms and high waves.
China's central weather authority expected the storm to move towards the south of the country as a super typhoon with the highest level 17 and peak speeds of more than 200 kilometres per hour. The Hong Kong weather observation service has warned that the sea could swell as much as it did during the record typhoons Hato in 2017 and Mangkhut in 2018. (DPA)
