Chinese brand passenger car sales to rise 22.8% by 2022

Beijing [China], January 17: Sales of Chinese-branded passenger cars jumped 22.8 per cent in 2022 amid domestic carmakers' attempt to upgrade products, industry data showed.
According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, last year were sold some 11.77 million domestic brand passenger. The market share of these cars reached 49.9 per cent, an annual increase of 5.4 percentage points.
Targeting opportunities in the areas of new energy vehicles and smart grids, Chinese automakers have been promoting electrification and smart upgrading of vehicles and optimised product structure in recent years to attract more consumers, the association said.
The international development of Chinese automobile companies has also steadily increased the influence of domestic brands, as reported by Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
