Deadly shooting at US immigration office

Washington [US], September 25: US authorities have identified Joshua Jahn as the suspect in the shooting at the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office in Dallas.
CNN reported on September 25 that suspect Joshua Jahn, 27, opened fire at the ICE office in Dallas (Texas, USA), killing one detainee and critically injuring two others. One of the two injured was a Mexican citizen . The suspect then used the gun to commit suicide.
Dallas police said the gunman climbed onto the roof of a building near the local ICE office and opened fire on the facility on the morning of September 24 local time.
The FBI is investigating the incident as a "targeted act of violence." FBI Director Kash Patel posted on social media X images of unused bullets, including bullet casings printed with the words "Protest ICE."
"Initial assessment of the evidence suggests an ideological motive behind this attack," Patel wrote. Police also searched a car parked near the ICE office.
Authorities said the suspect has family living in Fairview, Collin County, Texas. The FBI was present at the house believed to belong to the suspect's family on the afternoon of September 24, local time. Fox 4 quoted a neighbor as saying she had lived in the neighborhood for 30 years and knew everyone there, except the suspect's family, who are quite private.
Joshua Jahn was arrested in 2015 in Collin County for marijuana possession.
US President Donald Trump posted on the social network Truth Social, condemning the shooting as stemming from "radical left Democrats" who repeatedly smeared law enforcement. Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson called for unity after the shooting.
Democratic Rep. Marc Veasey of Texas said both Democrats and Republicans need to stop using divisive rhetoric and instead use words of encouragement and comfort.
