Sep 16, 2024

Washington [US], September 16: CNN on September 15 quoted US President Joe Biden criticizing his predecessor Donald Trump for his divisive words and conspiracy theories, while praising Vice President Kamala Harris and calling on people to "keep the faith".
"The failure of Mr. Trump's presidency has eroded confidence in the ability of democracy to meet the needs of the nation," Mr. Biden said at the Congressional African American Caucus Foundation awards ceremony in Washington DC on September 14. He criticized his predecessor for spreading false information that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, were stealing and eating pets.
In her speech, Ms. Harris warned that a second term for Mr. Trump would be a "profound threat" to the country's future. She criticized her opponent for failing to outline a health care plan during the September 10 debate, while touting her own economic and reproductive freedom plans.
Continuing his efforts to introduce policies, Mr. Trump said in an interview with KNTV on September 14 that he would compensate for the loss of tax revenue due to his tax cut proposals by increasing revenue from oil and gas exploitation and imposing taxes on foreign countries.
