Fire prompts evacuation of delegations at UN climate talks in Brazil

Belem [Brazil], November 21: A fire broke out on the grounds of the UN climate talks in Brazil on Thursday, prompting the evacuation of delegations.
Reporters saw smoke rising from one of the large tents at the venue in the city of Belem. Security officials said that no injuries had been reported.
The fire was described by security personnel as small and was quickly extinguished. There was no immediate information on the cause. The incident came as the two-week UN Climate Change Conference nears its end. The talks, known as COP30, are scheduled to close on Friday. (DPA)
