French officials suspect terrorist motive in stabbing that killed one

Paris [France], February 23: French anti-terrorism prosecutors have taken over the investigation into an attack in Mulhouse in the eastern Alsace region, that left one person dead and several others injured.
The perpetrator attacked several police officers on Saturday afternoon, shouting "Allahu Akbar," Arabic for God is great.
A passer-by, who intervened, was also attacked by the man, and died.
Three police officers were injured in the attack in the city near the border with Baden-Württemberg in south-west Germany.
The anti-terrorism prosecutor is now investigating the killing and attempted killing in connection with terrorism. The alleged perpetrator has been detained and is in police custody.
The police and prosecutor have not yet provided any further information about him. The French news agency AFP reported, citing a prosecutor, that the man was listed in a file on terrorism prevention. (DPA)
