Heavy snowfall disrupts traffic in northern BiH

Feb 15, 2025

Sarajevo [Bosnia and Herzegovina], February 15: Heavy snowfall has disrupted traffic in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), particularly in the Una-Sana Canton, where a major traffic collapse has occurred on the M5 highway near Bihac.
According to the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute on Friday, snowfall is expected to intensify and spread across the country, with significant accumulation in mountainous regions.
Rain that fell throughout the day in most areas is expected to turn into snow in the coming hours, though lower-altitude regions are unlikely to see heavy accumulation.
Authorities have deployed snow-clearing machines, and drivers are urged to use winter equipment for safety. Meteorologists predict continued snowfall overnight.
