Iranian minister in Beijing canvassing support

Apr 24, 2025

Tehran [Iran], April 24: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was in Beijing on Wednesday canvassing China's support for an agreement in the nuclear negotiations with the United States.
"China, alongside Russia, is considered a reliable strategic partner that has stood by us not only in good times but also in bad," Araghchi told the Iranian state broadcaster IRIB in Beijing. He said he would therefore inform the Chinese government about the ongoing negotiation process. Beijing can play a constructive role in bringing the delicate negotiations to a positive conclusion, Araghchi said. The next, now third, round of talks is due to take place from this Saturday in the Omani capital, Muscat.
