Israel hands over bodies of 45 Palestinians

Oct 15, 2025

Gaza City [Gaza], October 15: Israel has handed over the bodies of 45 Palestinians as part of an agreement with the militant organization Hamas. The remains were brought to the Gaza Strip on Tuesday with the help of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), medical sources in the coastal territory said on Tuesday. Genetic tests are now to be carried out at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip to identify the bodies. Afterwards, the families will be able to bury their dead relatives. The handover took place one day after Hamas released 20 living hostages and handed over the remains of four people: three Israelis and a student from Nepal. Israel also released nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.
