Longines Global Champions Tour season-opener postponed

Doha [Qatar], March 3: The Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) scheduled to take place from 4 to 7 March 2026 at Al Shaqab has been postponed in light of the current developments and evolving situation in the region.
The Organizing Committee of the Doha Equestrian Tour said that the safety and well-being of horses, athletes, teams, partners, staff, and spectators remain the highest priority.
The decision has been made following careful assessment of airspace restrictions, participation travel timelines and overall operational limitations.
At this stage, the Doha Equestrian Tour programme is scheduled to resume from 11 March. Further updates regarding the remaining events will be communicated in the coming days.
The Longines Global Champions Tour and the Doha Equestrian Tour remain fully committed to their long-term partnership at Al Shaqab.
The safety and well-being of horses, athletes, teams, partners, staff, and spectators remains our absolute priority. Both organisations (LGCT & Doha Equestrian Tour) are working in close coordination, and we confirm that all horses and personnel currently on site are safe and well.
The 2026 Longines Global Champions Tour season is to begin in Doha, Qatar, marking the highly anticipated opening leg of the LGCT and GCL calendar.
