Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu shared that as she developed herself in the field of film, her two children fully supported her. In particular, during her collaboration with director Khuong Ngoc, the children were the source of motivation for her to accept the role.
Speaking about her husband's reaction, the Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association revealed that for a film or a play, if he feels dissatisfied, his partner will frankly offer feedback immediately. However, for a compelling project, the husband of Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu will take time to contemplate it before sharing his opinion.
"My husband used to be a police officer, so many people think he's very dry and uninteresting. However, that's not the case. Before meeting me, he was close to many artists. In fact, people knew him before they knew me. So his artistic knowledge is quite extensive. After watching a work, if it's profound, he won't immediately comment but will contemplate it before sharing. There are even things he says that I haven't thought of yet," said Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu.
Despite her busy acting career, Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu remains wholeheartedly devoted to her family. Previously, when her children were young, if she had a new project, she would always plan carefully to fit in with the crew's schedule. The artist believes that a work is the result of collective effort, and she doesn't want personal matters to affect everyone's schedule.
"Now I have a little more free time because my children are grown up, and I'm no longer burdened with taking care of them at home. The only thing is I'm still 'tied down' with my two pets. I miss them when I'm away, but I have to try my best because of my work," the actress from the 70s shared.
Regarding her life partner, Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu said that because her husband loved art and understood the work of an actor before they met, he was empathetic towards her chosen profession. In addition, they had an agreement that each would mind their own business and not interfere in a way that would force her to "quit acting."
The actress revealed: "Because it was an agreement between us, I respect his work and vice versa. Sometimes he just gently expresses his concern, like worrying about me traveling long distances and the dangers of driving. I like to drive myself to work, so he worries at home. Later, for films that required me to drive far away, my husband wouldn't let me drive myself and insisted on having someone assist me."
When asked about her secret to maintaining her figure, Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu admitted that she loves eating but is fortunate not to gain too much weight. At 55, she focuses on exercise to maintain stable health. While previously, she chose to practice dance , now she practices yoga to keep her body more supple and flexible.
