May 28, 2026

Rome [Italy], May 28: Austria coach Ralf Rangnick has held talks with AC Milan, the Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Wednesday, with the position of sporting director likely to have been discussed. The German met Milan adviser Zlatan Ibrahimovic and club owner Gerry Cardinale in Vienna before he jets off to North America for the World Cup, the report said. Rangnick did not want to discuss the report when asked about it by dpa at a media appointment in the Austrian capital. "I have forgotten the third question," he said. According to Gazzetta, Spaniard Andoni Iraola is high on Milan's wish-list for the head coaching role. Iraola has left Bournemouth after three successful years in the Premier League and is also being tracked by Crystal Palace.
