PLO slams draft resolutions of Israeli Knesset on West Bank

Dec 15, 2022

Ramallah [Palestine], December 15: The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) on Wednesday rejected some draft resolutions of the Israeli Knesset, or parliament, calling them a political decision to fully annex most of the West Bank territories.
On Tuesday, the Israeli Knesset approved, through preliminary reading, several drafts that grant right-wing parties unprecedented powers in the West Bank, according to Israeli media.
"The projects amount to a complete cancellation of all signed agreements, and it is a flagrant violation of the international resolutions," said Hussein al-Sheikh, secretary general of the PLO Executive Committee and also a member of the central committee of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah Party, in a press statement.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that "it looks seriously at the results of implementing these decisions on the ground and their repercussions on the opportunity to implement the principle of the two-state solution."
It called on the international community to pressure the Israeli side to ensure that the policies that cross red lines and traditional rules "are not implemented."
