Project Qatar 2026 opens with 145 exhibitors showcasing innovation

Doha [Qatar], June 10: Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani inaugurated the 22nd edition of Project Qatar 2026 on Monday, reaffirming the country's commitment to advancing its construction, manufacturing and infrastructure sectors as key drivers of economic diversification and sustainable growth.
Following the inauguration, the minister toured the exhibition halls, reviewing the latest products, technologies and innovative solutions in construction, building and infrastructure showcased by participating local and international companies and institutions.
He praised the exhibition's role as a platform that brings together investors, companies and entrepreneurs, contributing to the strengthening of partnerships, exchange of expertise and exploration of investment opportunities. He noted that the event supports the growth of various economic activities and aligns with the State's efforts toward economic diversification and the achievement of the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Held under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the exhibition is taking place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) from June 9 to 11 under the theme "Manufacture, Build, Innovate".
The opening ceremony was attended by Eng Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Meer, president of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), senior government officials, ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions.
Recognised as Qatar's largest exhibition dedicated to construction materials, equipment and technologies, this year's event has attracted 145 exhibitors, including 120 local companies and 25 international firms representing sectors such as construction, industrial technologies, engineering services, energy, smart city solutions and sustainable infrastructure.
Speaking at the event, Hayat Bayan, IFP Qatar Commercial and Operations Director said the strong international participation reflects global confidence in Qatar's construction sector and its long-term growth prospects.
"The participation of 25 international companies stands as a testament to global confidence in the growth potential of Qatar's construction market," she said, noting that the exhibition continues to strengthen Qatar's position as a regional hub for investment and business partnerships.
Bayan highlighted the exhibition's role as a comprehensive platform that connects contractors, suppliers, developers, investors and government stakeholders. She added that the dedicated B2B Matchmaking Platform will facilitate targeted meetings aimed at transforming networking opportunities into long-term strategic partnerships.
The exhibition also features the Excellence in Industry & Innovation Awards, organised in collaboration with the Gulf Organisation for Research and Development (GORD), alongside a Startup Stage designed to support entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises by connecting them with investors and industry leaders.
According to MEED data cited during the event, the value of planned and ongoing projects in Qatar reached $251.6 billion in 2025, an increase of $14.3 billion compared to 2024. Qatar also ranks first globally in construction output per capita, recording $18,433 per person.
Eng. Khalid Al Najjar, director of the technical office at Ashghal, said the authority's participation as strategic partner reflects its commitment to driving infrastructure development and promoting sustainable construction practices.
"Project Qatar provides a valuable opportunity to strengthen cooperation with contractors, suppliers and private-sector stakeholders while showcasing innovative solutions and digital applications that enhance project delivery," he said.
Abdulaziz Ibrahim Al-Tamimi, CEO of Qatar Primary Materials Company (QPMC), stressed the importance of ensuring a steady supply of raw materials and logistics services for national projects while advancing sustainable solutions through construction waste recycling.
Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansouri, Acting General Manager of Qatar Chamber, described the exhibition as an ideal platform for fostering partnerships between local and international companies and facilitating knowledge transfer.
Project Qatar 2026 is supported by a broad network of government entities and leading private-sector organisations, reinforcing its position as one of the region's premier industry events and a catalyst for innovation, investment and economic development.
