Prosecutors demand long sentences for Kardashian robbers

May 22, 2025

Paris [France], May 22: French prosecutors on Wednesday called for lengthy sentences to be imposed on the 10 accused charged with the 2016 armed robbery of Kim Kardashian in an exclusive Paris hotel.
Four of the men should be imprisoned for 10 years, one for eight years, two for seven years and one for four years, prosecutors said, broadcaster CNews reported from the court where the trial is being heard.
The sole woman accused should be jailed for six years, and the last accused should receive a fine, the prosecutors urged.
Two of the accused have admitted involvement in the crime, but prosecutors see all those charged as guilty of a carefully planned attack on the reality TV star. Sentencing is expected on Friday.
The 10, with an average age of around 60, have been on trial since the end of April. The French press have dubbed them the "grandpa gangsters." Kardashian was attacked by five of the gang disguised as police officers at around 2.30am. They had forced the hotel concierge to take them to her room at gunpoint, where they threatened her with a gun and gagged and bound her with adhesive tape before making off with an estimated €9 million ($10 million) in jewellery.
