May 25, 2024

Moscow [Russia], May 25: Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin was back to Moscow for consultations, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on Friday.
"On May 24, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Kopirkin was summoned to Moscow for consultations," Zakharova wrote in her Telegram channel.
According to a TASS report, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has recently criticized relations with Moscow. In particular, he suspended Yerevan's participation in the work of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and also stopped the work of Russian border guards at Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport, which had been ongoing since 1992.
At a meeting with Pashinyan in Moscow on May 8, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted the success of the development of bilateral relations between Russia and Armenia.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov commented on the call to Moscow of Kopirkin, saying that ambassadors periodically come for consultations.
