Russian strikes kill at least 10 in eastern Ukraine

Apr 24, 2025

Kyiv [Ukraine], April 24: At least 10 people have been killed and dozens more injured in two separate Russian attacks in eastern Ukraine, regional officials said on Wednesday.
In the city of Marhanets in the Dnipropetrovsk region, a Russian drone strike on a company bus killed at least nine people and injured 30 others, according to Serhiy Lysak, the region's military governor.
Marhanets, a centre for manganese ore mining and processing, lies near the front line along the Dnipro River and has been frequently targeted by Russian forces since the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022. It is located close to the site of the Kakhovka reservoir, which was drained after the dam's destruction in 2023.
In a separate incident, at least one person was killed and two others injured in an airstrike on the eastern city of Sloviansk in the Donetsk region. According to regional governor Vadym Filashkin, the strike involved two bombs and damaged 17 private homes. Ukraine has been defending itself against Russia's full-scale invasion for more than three years, with Russian attacks continuing to cause civilian casualties across the country.
