Singapore reports 1,448 new COVID-19 cases

Singapore, August 29: Singapore reported 1,448 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the total tally to 1,832,780.
Of the new cases, 168 cases were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 1,280 through ART (antigen rapid test) tests, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.
Among the PCR cases, 149 were local transmissions and 19 were imported cases. Among the ART cases with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 1,212 local transmissions and 68 imported cases.
A total of 287 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with seven cases in intensive care units.
One more death was reported from COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the total death toll to 1,591, the ministry said.
