South Korea votes early for presidential election

Seoul [South Korea], May 30: On May 29, early voting for the South Korean presidential election began at 3,568 polling stations across the country, according to Yonhap.
The official vote will take place on June 3 to choose a successor to former President Yoon Suk Yeol , who was removed from office by the South Korean Constitutional Court over the declaration of martial law in December 2024.
There are six candidates in the race for the Blue House. As of yesterday afternoon, four candidates had cast their ballots early, including opposition Democratic Party (DP) candidate Lee Jae-myung, ruling People Power Party (PPP) candidate Kim Moon-soo, New Reform Party (NRP) candidate Lee Jun-seok, and Democratic Labor Party candidate Kwon Young-kook.
According to the latest poll results released on May 28, Mr. Lee Jae-myung leads with 49.2% support, followed by Mr. Kim Moon-soo with 36.8% and Mr. Lee Jun-seok with 10.3%.
