SpaceX sets record for fastest journey to the ISS

Oct 03, 2026

New York [US], October 3: On October 1st (US time), four astronauts arrived at the International Space Station (ISS) just 7 hours and 55 minutes after liftoff from Florida, setting a record for the fastest journey by a US spacecraft to the ISS, according to AP.
According to the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the flight time to the ISS depends on the relative position between the station and the spacecraft at the time of launch. The most recent US crew took more than 30 hours to complete a similar journey.
SpaceX 's Crew Dragon "Grace" spacecraft was launched into orbit from Cape Canaveral by a Falcon 9 rocket, carrying NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins and Luke Delaney, Canadian astronaut Joshua Kutryk, and Russian cosmonaut Sergey Teteryatnikov. This is the 13th long-duration crewed mission to the ISS carried out by SpaceX for NASA since 2020. The team is expected to stay on the station for about six months, focusing on studying the effects of microgravity on circulation, blood clotting, and human health, in preparation for future long-duration space missions.
