Sri Lankan state minister, police officer killed in road accident

Colombo [Sri Lanka], January 25: Sri Lankan State Minister of Water Supply Sanath Nishantha and a police officer died in a road accident on the Colombo-Katunayake expressway on Thursday, police said.
The state minister's vehicle crashed with a container truck at 2:00 a.m. local time in the Kandana police division of the expressway.
The state minister and the police officer died upon admission to the hospital, and the driver of their vehicle was under treatment, according to police.
