Trump moves to abolish postal voting ahead of 2026 midterm elections

Aug 19, 2025

Washington DC [US], August 19: US President Donald Trump wants to abolish postal voting and electronic voting machines with an executive order ahead of midterm elections next years.
"I am going to lead a movement to get rid of MAIL-IN BALLOTS, and also, while we're at it, Highly "Inaccurate," Very Expensive, and Seriously Controversial VOTING MACHINES," Trump said on Monday in a post on his Truth Social platform.
He added that he was due to sign an "EXECUTIVE ORDER to help bring HONESTY to the 2026 Midterm Elections." The US president has repeatedly alleged that fraudulent postal votes and voting machines were responsible for his defeat in the 2020 presidential election.
