Washington [US], January 20: At his final rally before his inauguration, US President-elect Donald Trump vowed to quickly get to work 'fixing every crisis' facing the US.
"Tomorrow, at noon, four long years of American decline will be covered, and we will begin a brand new day of American strength, prosperity, dignity and pride," Donald Trump said to thousands of supporters gathered at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC on January 19 (Washington time, January 20 morning Vietnam time), before the inauguration .
"This is the greatest political movement in American history, and 75 days ago, we achieved the greatest political victory America has ever seen," the president-elect declared.
"Starting tomorrow, I will act with unprecedented speed and resolve every crisis this country faces," he stressed.
The event marked Mr. Trump's first major speech in Washington since he stood on stage before a crowd of supporters, who then stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
The rally at Capital One Arena, along with his inaugural address at noon on January 20 (US time), could reveal the direction of the agenda that the President-elect plans to carry out during his second term in the White House.
Mr. Trump pledged to take strong, resounding action, repealing a series of policies of President Joe Biden's administration on his first day in the Oval Office.
"Every radical and foolish executive order of the Biden administration will be repealed within hours of my inauguration," Trump asserted.
The president-elect also mentioned the goal of "eliminating extremist ideologies" in the ranks of the military, and ordered the Pentagon to build a missile defense shield to protect the US.
He also said he would direct the military to start building the Iron Dome missile defense shield. Production would be done on US soil, but details of the plan were not yet clear.
And he vowed to rescue TikTok. At the time of his announcement, the video-sharing platform TikTok restored service in the US on January 19 (local time) after a brief shutdown.
