Tunisian president orders to open borders with Libya

Tunis (Tunisia), September 17: Tunisian President Kais Saied has ordered the opening of his country's borders with Libya from Friday, Tunisian Presidency said on Thursday.
This decision came following a meeting with the Foreign Affairs Minister Othmen Jerandi, the Interior Minister Ridha Gharsallaoui and the Health Minister Ali Mrabet.
"After being informed of the results of the meetings of the Tunisian-Libyan mixed ministerial, security and health commissions, held on Wednesday, the President of the Republic instructed the reopening of the border posts with Libya, from Friday Sept. 17 at 7 am local time," said a presidency statement.
Saied authorized, in coordination with the Libyan authorities, the concentration of health teams for vaccination against the new coronavirus at border posts, in addition to the organization of intensive vaccination days at the headquarters of Tunisian diplomatic and consular missions in Libya.
