Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine accuses soldiers of brutal assault

Kampala [Uganda], January 25: Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine has once again accused the security forces of severe assaults shortly after the controversial presidential election in the east African country.
Soldiers, some of whom were drunk, stormed his house, looted property and mistreated his wife, Wine posted on the social media platform X on Saturday.
"They strangled her and insulted her. They forcefully removed her blouse and took pictures! ... My wife was rushed to hospital where she remains admitted - dealing with all the physical and psychological trauma," wrote the 43-year-old. Main rival of re-elected President Museveni Wine is in hiding after he claimed to have escaped an attempted abduction by police. (DPA)
