Uzbekistan declares 2025 as year of environmental protection, green economy

Tashkent [Uzbekistan], January 1: Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has announced 2025 as the year of environmental protection and green economy for the country, according to the president's press service upon the arrival of the New Year.
The country's main goal is to create a sustainable balance between the economic system and the environment, as well as greater opportunities for businesses, a statement from the press service said.
The Uzbek leader further said that the country will continue working decisively to protect private property and actively attract foreign investments.
In his speech, Mirziyoyev assessed the year 2024 as "prosperous" and "the idea of a New Uzbekistan is becoming a reality," stating that Uzbekistan's authority is increasing on the international stage as a competitive nation and a reliable partner.
The year 2024 was declared as the year of support for youth and business in Uzbekistan.
