Zenit edge Red Star in basketball's Euroleague

Belgrade (Serbia) Feb 20: Serbian side Red Star lost to Zenit 76-75 in a pulsating Round 25 Euroleague match on Friday in Belgrade.
The Russian team gained an early advantage thanks to Kevin Pangos, KC Rivers and Billy Baron and managed to build a 12-point advantage to finish the first half 48-36.
Red Star tightened its defense in the third quarter, resulting in a 6-0 run which reduced the gap to just five points, trailing at 61-56.
The Serbian team managed to further endanger Zenit's lead in the final quarter and even took the lead, but each time Zenit found ways to bounce back.
In answer to Red Star's late turnaround and two-point lead just 30 seconds before the buzzer, Zenit'sPangos slammed home a three-pointer to set the final score.
Pangos ended the match with 25 points and seven assists for Zenit, while Jordan Lloyd scored 21 points for the home team.
This is Red Star's 17th defeat this year alongside seven wins, and they will look to improve their score away to Zalgiris on February 23, while Zenit, with 14 victories and nine defeats in the competition so far, host Valencia two days later.
