Kashmiris hold anti-Pak protest against oppression and cross-border terrorism

Geneva (Switzerland), Mar 10 (ANI): Political activists from Pakistan occupied Kashmir held a protest in front of UNHRC office in Geneva against Pakistan for oppression of indigenous people, exploitation of natural resources and sponsoring cross-border terrorism in the region. They protested when the 43rd session was going on at UNHRC in Geneva. The protestors held placards reading “Release all political prisoners from Gilgit Baltistan”, “CPEC and mega projects in dispute areas of Gilgit Baltistan are unacceptable”. Speaking to ANI, Nasir Aziz Khan, Spokesperson of United Kashmir People’s National Party said, “Since the last 73 years we have been deprived from our basic fundamental human rights. That’s why we have no say at any platform in Pakistan. We don’t have any representation in Pakistani institution for example Pakistan National Assembly or senate or anywhere we cannot raise our voice and who dare to raise their voices”. Junaid Qureshi, a Kashmiri from Srinagar who also heads a think-tank, the European Foundation for a South Asian Studies (EFSAS) said, “PoK belongs to Jammu and Kashmir. It’s part of Jammu and Kashmir and they have been facing huge difficulties and not only have them, if you look at Pakistan and other people there, the Baloch been facing it.”
