Several wildfires in northwest of Athens destroy over 100 homes

More than 100 homes have been destroyed as multiple wildfires continue to rage near Megara, northwest of Athens. Firefighters and volunteers are battling the blazes, while fresh fires have forced evacuations on the tourist island of Kefalonia. Europe continues to face a severe wildfire season driven by extreme heat and prolonged dry conditions.
